Deep-rooted expertise

A non-profit organization founded on May 22, 1991, the Gaboury Development Corporation's mission is to develop agroforestry potential in the Témiscamingue region. Based in Latulipe-et-Gaboury, it works in forest management, recreational tourism development, and the development of local natural resources.
                          Responsible forest management

Forestry is at the heart of Gaboury's activities. Each year, the team carries out brush clearing, reforestation, and management work on scattered lots in several municipalities, including Témiscaming, Béarn, Rémigny, Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Moffet, Latulipe, Guérin, and Fabre.
                          A recreational tourism shift

Beyond the trees, Gaboury is developing recreational tourism projects to showcase the forest in a new way. Trail maintenance, ready-to-camp facilities, and even a yurt on the shores of Lac des Quinze in Moffet: the Corporation is committed to accessible, integrated facilities geared toward sustainable tourism.
                          Wood recovery

The Corporation recently acquired a wood processor and a sawmill to better utilize local species, such as red pine, which is rarely used by industry. Firewood and sawn timber are thus provided to the public, in an effort to extend the working season for employees while meeting the needs of the community.
                          Pick-your-own and traditions

Every year, the fir forest opens its ranks to families for self-picking Christmas trees, in a festive atmosphere.
